Amanda Haugen, Business partner, General Manager and Wine Director, was born in Anchorage, and is a fourth generation Alaskan. She has been working at the Bistro since 2000, and has created one of the best beer and wine list in the city. Southside Bistro has been awarded the prestigious Wine Spectator Award of Excellence for 25 consecutive years.

Travis Haugen, Business partner and Chef, after having served in the Air Force, graduated top of his class at Le Cordon Bleu at Brown College, and has experience in some of the best restaurants in Minneapolis and St. Paul as well as Anchorage.

Jens Nannestad born and raised in southern Sweden. He apprenticed with an Austrian Chef, and moved to the USA in 1982. Jens graduated with honors from the California Culinary Academy in 1985. After working various positions around the country, (including some time with Jens Hansen at the Crows Nest, Hotel Captain Cook) he returned back to Alaska in 1993, and opened Southside Bistro in 1995. He is often seen helping make every night one to remember at Southside Bistro.
